Identify My Pump

Masport pumps and parts are often easy to identify with visible features, such as external lubricators, front shafts, and cooling types clearly marked on the unit. Need some help identifying your product? Our guide describes where you to find serial numbers in various locations and differentiate between vacuum-only (F) and vacuum-and-pressure (V) models. Additionally, we’ll help ensure proper pump rotation based on arrow indicators.

HXL Series Pumps

HXL Series Rotation Type

All HXL series pumps have a double-ended rotor to accommodate a CW or CCW drive system. There is an arrow cast into the pump housing and/or the valve housing indicating proper pump rotation. Ensure the drive system direction corresponds to the direction shown on the pump.

HD Series Rotation Type

The HD1 pump is a single shaft pump. There is an arrow cast into the pump housing indicating proper pump rotation.

The HD2 and HD3 pumps can be driven from either of the two shafts to accommodate a clockwise or a counter-clockwise drive system. There is an arrow printed onto the into the pump housing and/or the indicating the proper pump rotation.

For both setups ensure that the drive system direction corresponds to the direction shown on the pump.

The HD4, HD75, HD75W, and HD400W pumps are all single shaft pumps. There is an arrow printed onto the pump model tag on the oil pump cover indicating the proper pump rotation. Ensure that the drive system direction corresponds to the direction shown on the pump.

Vacuum Only or Vacuum and Pressure

Vacuum Only (F)

Pumps that perform vacuum only, will not have a top valve to switch from vacuum to pressure. These pumps are identified as having F in the product name suffix throughout the site.

Vacuum and Pressure (V)

Pumps that perform vacuum and pressure will have a top valve to switch from vacuum to pressure. These pumps are identified as having V in the product name suffix throughout the site.

Fan Cooled

All fan cooled pumps can be identified by:

  • The fan on the front of the pump
  • A tag identifier on the pump in either of two places
    • Front of pump
    • Top of pump

Liquid Cooled

Liquid cooled pumps will be identifiable by the thermometer gauge on the front of the pump.

Water Cooled

Liquid cooled models have a water jacket built into the cylinder to cool the pump. The coolant inlet is in the cylinder housing near the base and there are two coolant return ports, one on either side of the valve housing, above the cylinder.
